Fieldcrest CUSD #6 is a 21st century school district. Our technology program includes a 1:1 Chromebook (or iPads in some K-2 classrooms) program and BenQ interactive Boards in grades K-12,. 

Fieldcrest CUSD #6 utilizes Learning Management Systems based on student needs:

SeeSaw is the designated LMS for grades K-2.

Google Classroom is the designated LMS for grades 3-5.

Schoology is the designated LMS for grades 6-12 .

These programs help students, teachers, administrators, and parents collaborate in support of student success.

STUDENT DATA PRIVACY

Due to the ever growing use of technology in schools, there is growing concern regarding the level of privacy measures that schools and their educational partners take to protect personal information.  Fieldcrest CUSD #6 is committed to protecting student privacy.  The resources in the Student Data Privacy area are here to help inform parents and assist in the transparency of our student data privacy efforts. Fieldcrest CUSD #6 is committed to protecting student privacy. 

SOPPA

The Student Online Personal Protection Act, or SOPPA, is the data privacy law that regulates student data collection and use by schools, the Illinois State Board of Education, and education technology (EdTech) vendors.  SOPPA will also require Illinois school districts to provide additional guarantees that student data is protected when collected by EdTech companies and that data is used for beneficial purposes only. SOPPA requires all Illinois public school districts to provide these guarantees to protect student data privacy, effective July 1, 2021 (105 ILCS 85/15).

Ensuring the security of our students’ personal information is important to Fieldcrest, and establishing protocols compliant with this legislation will enable us to do so consistently.
